Chemical company DuPont recently announced that they have acquired the engineering materials maker Rogers Corp. Based in Arizona, Rogers manufactures advanced electronics used in wireless infrastructure, power amplifiers, radar systems, hybrid–electric vehicles and more. DuPont CEO Ed Breen was quoted saying, “We are sharpening our focus on high-growth, high-value opportunities in sectors with steady long-term secular growth trends.” Breen, who led largest –ever chemical industry merger between DuPont and Dow Chemical also said the Company plans to further invest in this area both organically and through further acquisitions.
The deal for Rogers Corp. was announced as a $5.2 billion purchase. This is the second deal this year for DuPont in this space having previously acquired Laird Performance Materials for $2.3 billion.
