In an acquisition announced on March 2nd, Breakthru Beverage Group is set to complete the purchase of J.J. Taylor Companies, a beer distributor and wholesaler with offices in Minnesota and Florida. Like J.J. Taylor Companies, Breakthru Beverage Group is a family-owned alcohol wholesaler and distributor with over 36 locations in 14 states, and more than 7,000 employees. The acquisition is expected to enhance Breakthru’s presence in the Midwest, particularly in Minnesota. The two companies are expected to consolidate beer distribution under one roof for servicing the Midwest, relocating to J.J. Taylor’s 600,000 square-foot distribution warehouse in the Twin Cities area. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“There’s great synergy between our companies in Minnesota. This combination will dramatically enhance operations in the Twin Cities and reinforces our commitment to this market as we deploy our full suite of best-in-class capabilities and digital resources to help supplier and customer partners better reach their target consumers and drive results,” said Tom Bené, Breakthru Beverage Group President and CEO.
